MUSCAT — The National Archives and Records Authority (NARA) signed a contract with Tech Knowledge Inc for subscription and purchase of Arab al Manhal database. As per the contract, the Authority will buy more than 11,000 electronic book titles (permanent ownership) and subscribe for one year in more than 120 publications, 2,500 dissertations available at Arab al Manhal data bases for non-definite number of users. The contract was signed by Dr Hamad bin Mohammed al Dhoyani, Chairman of NARA, and Mohammed al Baghdadi, CEO of Tech Knowledge. As per the contract terms, the Authority can use the books for scientific research purposes and making copies. Tech Knowledge will also provide technical support to the staff working at the Authority’s Reading Division, which will be launched soon, on how to use the database. The e-books are valuable addition to the library, as they will help researchers get accurate information.
